2024 Exhibition Details

Glen Eira U3A Open Days & Art Exhibition – Open to the public & all welcome
  • When: Friday 12 July – Sunday 14 July 2024
  • Hours: 10 am – 4 pm
  • Where: Glen Eira U3A, 1151 Glen Huntly Road, Glen Huntly (entry via Woolworths carpark off Manchester Grove)
  • Art Exhibition Categories: Painting (acrylic, oil and watercolour), Clay Sculpture, Drawing, Pastel, Knitting, Macrame, and Montage
  • Opening: Mayor of Glen Eira, Cr Anne-Marie Cade, will officially open the Art Exhibition at 2.00 pm on Saturday 13 July 2024.
  • Presentations: Caulfield MP, David Southwick, will present a number of prizes to the winning entrants on Saturday 13 July 2024 following the official opening.

Submitting Artwork

Who can submit an entry? Submissions are open to all Glen Eira U3A members enrolled in our various art and craft classes, including painting (acrylic, oil and watercolour), drawing, pastel, macramé, montage, clay sculpture and knitting.

What is the deadline for submissions? The deadline for delivery of artwork to the Art Room is June 14, 2024.

How many entries? Each member is limited to three entries, although this may be adjusted based on the volume of submissions received.

How do you register your artwork? Artwork registration will be conducted online through a registration link for all members enrolled in art and craft classes. Here is the link to register your artwork: https://rb.gy/uk4lxk

Selling your artwork The registration form also allows you to nominate if you wish to place your artwork for sale. A pricelist will be drafted and it will be the responsibility of the artist to liaise with the potential purchaser.

Do you need to frame your work? Artwork must be framed and ready to hang, e.g. using D-rings for hanging.
A Framing Day is scheduled for May 31, from 9.30am to 11.30am. Members wishing to utilise this service are required to book a timeslot. This can be booked by contacting Reception. The framing day will be held in the Art Room at our Glen Eira U3A. Timeslots are in 15-minute intervals. There is a limit of one art piece per member at no cost.

Will there be prizes awarded? Prizes will be awarded across all categories, with judging conducted by esteemed Melbourne artist Clive Sinclair. The categories are:

  • Painting (acrylic, oil and watercolour)
  • Clay Sculpture
  • Drawing
  • Knitting
  • Macrame
  • Montage

Picture Framing
