Annual General Meeting 2025

Please show your support for Glen Eira U3A by joining us for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held at 2.00 pm on Tuesday 7 October 2025 in the Green Rooms at our Glen Huntly campus. The AGM will be followed by High Tea.

BUSINESS TO BE CONDUCTED

A number of matters will be considered at the AGM:

  1. You will be asked to approve the minutes of the previous AGM held on 10 October 2024;
  2. You will receive a report on our activities for the year and our plans for the future;
  3. You will be asked to accept the financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2025;
  4. You will be asked to approve the process for setting the proposed membership fee ($75) for 2026 and the time for payment of that fee (on enrolment);
  5. You will be asked to agree on the number of ordinary Committee members for 2025/2026;
  6. You will be asked to elect a new Committee of Management.

Only current financial members may attend and vote at the AGM. If you cannot attend the meeting, you may appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf. A completed proxy form should be returned to the Secretary prior to the meeting.

COMMITTEE ELECTIONS

Glen Eira U3A is managed by a Committee of Management elected each year at the AGM. At the present time, the Committee has the following members:

All Committee positions will be declared vacant at the AGM. If you wish to nominate yourself or another current member for a position on the Committee, you should complete the appropriate nomination form and provide it to the Secretary by 30 September 2025. Nomination forms received prior to September 15 2025 will be listed on the Proxy Form.

Current Committee members Scott Gordon, Anne-Margaret Healy and Joe Pasmanik will not be seeking re-election. All other current Committee members will be available for re-election.

Committee members are expected to:

  1. Regularly attend and participate in Committee meetings and Glen Eira U3A events;
  2. Work considerately and respectfully with other Committee Members;
  3. Be familiar with Glen Eira U3A’s processes and its rules and publications;
  4. Assist with the operations of the organisation, including opening and closing the premises, assisting with enrolments, and actively participating in the day-to-day management of the organisation;
  5. Actively participate in policy development and implementation;
  6. Bring any concerns or issues raised by tutors or members to the attention of the Committee;
  7. Maintain confidentiality related to any matters under consideration by the Committee.
