Welcome to our January 2025 Monthly Update
We look forward to welcoming you back for our 2025 enrolments in mid-January. Thank you for being part of the Glen Eira U3A story.
Glen Eira U3A has been offering courses since 1987. We are one of the few U3A’s to have its own premises. In 1998, we moved to our current site which previously had been the Glen Huntly Bowling Club. Following a challenging, decade-long project involving numerous stakeholders, our current purpose-built building was opened in 2010. You can read the story of its development on our website – click here.
In addition to the members – past and present – who made this a reality, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to our tutors and volunteers for their commitment, dedication and efforts in making our U3A a success. Each volunteer area and each volunteer has a story and each month, we will showcase our volunteers and volunteer areas.
Thank you again for being a part of our journey. Here’s to an even greater year ahead.

Health, Safety and Wellbeing Update – Entrance To Our Venue
In the December News Update, we wrote about an unfortunate incident when a car accidentally ploughed through the front fence and into the Memorial Garden.
The repairs to the entrance will be undertaken soon. Members can also continue to access the main entrance via the new ramp and adjacent steps from the Memorial garden (to the right as you enter U3A from the Woolworths car park).
During the enrolment period, especially assisted enrolment, there will be signs displayed advising members of the safe routes to take to locations for enrolment.
